Ernest Lynn Moore
Ernest Lynn Moore, 87, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 26, 2017, after cheerfully and gracefully battling Alzheimer’s disease for three years.
Ernie was born on December 27, 1929 in Ludlow, Massachusetts and was raised by loving parents with his two brothers, Lewis and Thomas, in Westminster, Vermont. Upon graduation from Bellows Falls High School, he served in the US Army and was honorably discharged as a Corporal.
He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and married Elaine Morse of Bellows Falls in 1951. They moved to Schenectady to work at General Electric, where Ernie worked drafting blueprints for large steam turbines and generators for over 40 years, before retiring in 1992.
Ernie and Elaine raised two sons, David (Cynthia) of Charlton and Paul (Lori) of Ballston Lake before Elaine went to Heaven in 2004. They passed on their love of skiing, camping and boating to their sons, by whom they have eight granddaughters, Alicia, Heidi, Heather, Chelsea, Hannah, Lydia, Natalie and Chloe, and four great grandsons.
After a year of being widowed, Ernie found the second love of his life, Linda Lange, and they were married in 2006. Ernie then gained five stepchildren, Jeff, Brian (Paula), Donna (Bob), Jayne (Dennis) and Scott, and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ernie and Elaine were founding members of Greater Grace Community Church, which in its formative years met in their home. Ernie was the most faithful member of the church for over 25 years, attending all services, cleaning, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, greeting people and serving communion.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 4 from 1pm to 3pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A memorial service will follow at 3:30pm that afternoon, at the Greater Grace Community Church, 100 Village Blvd. Suite 17, Malta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ernie’s memory to fund Alzheimer’s Research, Hospice, or Greater Grace Community Church.
