Helen E. Robbins

Helen E. Robbins 86 of Galway, with her family by her side, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Galway, April 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Eva Schmidt. Helen was a nurse’s aide for 25 years at the Saratoga County Infirmary. She was an avid reader and her greatest joy was spending time with and taking care of her family.

She was predeceased by her first husband Donald L. May, and her brothers, Oscar, Carl and Donald Schmidt. Helen is survived by her husband Kenneth E. Robbins, her children Joyce Emigh of Galway, Donald May, Jr (Ann) of Hagaman, Douglas May (Lynn) of Hagaman, David May of Jacksonville FL, Sharon Nolan of Ballston Spa, Sandra Hoffman (Fred) of Fonda, Dale May (MaryAnn) of Schenectady, Wendy Spence (William) of Broadalbin, Kenneth Robbins, Jr (Martha) of Galway, and Katherine Keller of Galway, her brother Robert Schmidt (Patricia) of Ledyard, CT, 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service 3pm Friday May 4, 2012 at East Galway Cemetery, Welch Road, Galway.

The family would like to thank the staff on C-3 at Saratoga Hospital for their care and compassion.
