James M. Doherty

James M. Doherty “Dort”, 60, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Schenectady, NY on September 11, 1956, he was the son of James and Jean Doherty. Jim was a heavy equipment operator at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in West Milton for many years.

Jim enjoyed hanging with his family and friends, playing Thursday night “football”.

He was predeceased by his daughter Kelly. Jim is survived by his children Sean Doherty, Chris Doherty (Amanda), Jamie Abrams (Kyle), Chelsea Doherty (John) and Katie Spisto (Mike); grandchildren Carter and Makenna; his extended family Diane Griffin, Charles “Gov” Hofmann and Kyle Hofmann; and many close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 13 from 4pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.

In lieu of flowers, enjoy a cold beer in memory of Dort.
