To Susan and the Runkel family.

Please accept my condolences on Jay's passing. I owe him so much, when no one in the office would back up my application, Jay stood for me and gave me the necessary references. I also remember wondering "What tie will he wear today."

The last time I saw him was at his retirement party, but I have and will always remember him fondly and with the knowledge that if not for him, I would have never moved up in my career.

I am unable to travel to the service since I had a stroke and have difficulty moving around, but I will be there in spirit.

May he Rest In Peace at the side of our Lord.

Dear Sue - I worked for Jay in the Budget Unit over 30 years ago. I was his secretary. I had so much fun playing jokes on him - he was such an easy target. Jay was a wonderful boss and I have a lot of special memories of those times in the Budget Unit, especially when we had to work weekends to get the budget finished (we didn't have computers then). I am SO sorry to hear of his passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I will always think of him and smile.
