Norman F. Marincic


Norman F. Marincic, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Born in Watertown, NY on April 9, 1935, he was the son of John and Emma (Ronacher) Marincic. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Norm was a graduate of Central Connecticut State College and was inducted into their Hall of Fame for long distance running. He was a lifelong athlete. Norm competed in thousands of races including the Boston and New York City Marathons. He was a candidate for the US Olympic distance team in Tokyo, Japan.

Norm’s passions included running, traveling, music, ballroom dancing, reading and nature. He was a member of the Capital District Humanist Society, American Atheists’ Society and numerous running associations. He was a longtime supporter of multiple local organizations.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Emma, brothers John and Hank, and sister Betty. Norm is survived by his daughter Barbara Marincic and her fiancée Sue DeRocher; grandchildren Ian and Laney Marincic; sister Sarah Ann Marincic; brothers Rudy and William Marincic, and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held by the family.
