Shirley M. Elmore

Shirley M. Elmore, 89 passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Born in Callicoon, NY on October 19, 1927, she was the daughter of Herbert and Viola Hahn.

Shirley was an administrative assistant at the Watervliet Arsenal for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed traveling and as a member of the Ballston Area Seniors, she coordinated many of their trips. Shirley liked making crafts and had recently discovered Colorama adult coloring books.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard and her sister Marjorie Hughes. Shirley is survived by her daughters Sherry Demers (Raymond) of Malta and Kimberly Messier (Michael) of Waterford; grandchildren Justin Demers (Jennie), Kyle Demers (Dr. Greg Fenton), Chad Halikias (Tiffany Ciccarelli), Richard Halikias, and Zoe Halikias (Zach Mason); sisters in law and brothers in law Patricia O’Boyle, Judith Fisher, Rosemary Morehouse, Barry Pudney, R. Michael Elmore, Ronald O’Dell; cousins Frank Hahn (Carla); and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:30am Friday, February 24, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 23 from 5pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Shirley to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or the Ballston Area Seniors, 310 Northline Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
