Stephen M. Hrebinczak

Stephen M. Hrebinczak, “Rebby” 61, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at his home after a long and courageous ten year battle with cancer.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 30, 1955, he was the son of Stephen and Stella Hrebinczak. He was a graduate of Bishop Skully High School, Fulton Montgomery Community College and Modern Welding.

Steve was a welder for General Electric Co. He later owned and operated Steve’s Welding in Amsterdam for many years and retired from Lane Enterprises.

He enjoyed gardening, golfing, fly fishing and spending time at Sacandaga Lake.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Albert ”George” Barbato, and father in law John Uhlinger. Steve is survived by his wife Diane; children Jonathan Smith (Bobbie Sue) of Ballston Spa and Samantha Haskell (Brandon) of Mechanicville; granddaughter Rosalee; mother in law Josephine Uhlinger of Ballston Spa; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:30am Monday, July 10 at St. Mary’s Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 9 from 2pm to 4pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.

Memorial contributions in memory of Steve may be made to St. Mary’s School, 40 Thompson Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.

The family would like to thank Dr. Capello, Dr. Frank, Dr. Shaffer and Dr. Price for their care and compassion throughout Steve’s illness.
