Alicia Belanger Lee


Alicia Belanger Lee, 85, was granted her angel wings on December 14, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family. Alicia was born on January 18, 1932 in Malta, NY; she was the daughter of Chauncey and Anna Mabb. The youngest of six siblings, Alicia was known as Lish. She resided in Jonesville for sixty years.

Alicia worked in accounting at the Watervliet Arsenal for 35 years. She ran Willie Winkle Diner and cooked at the Jonesville Country Store. She was a member of Jonesville United Methodist Church and the Jonesville Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

Alicia enjoyed gardening, entertaining, cooking, camping and being with her family. In her younger years she waterskied and tap danced.

She was predeceased by her first husband Conde Belanger, whom she married in 1952, and her second husband Gerald Lee, whom she married in 1980. She was also predeceased by her siblings Ruth, Clarence, Annabelle, Myrtle, Ralph and Blanche.

Alicia is survived by her children Sidney Belanger (Robin), Cynthia Durie, and Randy Belanger (Carol); stepchildren Gary Lee (Tracy), Michael Lee, Rebecca Lee and Deborah Miller (Clifford); grandchildren Nicholas Belanger, Benjamin Durie, Andrew Durie, Jason Bombard and Melissa Blau; step grandchildren Samantha, Clifford and Alex; great grandchildren Leonard, Violet and Harper; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 16 from 10am to 12 noon at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 12 noon.

Burial will be in the Dunning Street Cemetery in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
