Daniel C. Weiss

Daniel Christian Weiss departed from this world on November 11, 2021 at the age of 17. Daniel received the gift of a new heart on October 28, but after a series of unforeseen complications, he passed peacefully. He was surrounded by loved ones.

Daniel was born in Rockville Centre, New York, on June 20, 2004 (Father’s Day). He was truly a gift to us all. Daniel was born with a very unique and compromised heart. What Daniel could not do physically, he excelled at academically. He was a senior at Saratoga Springs High School, had a love for learning, and was excited to begin his college career majoring in Communications. Daniel was an excellent writer, historian, communicator, and had wisdom beyond his years. Daniel enjoyed being a part of the youth group Young Life, beginning his internship at a local radio station, and loved engaging in a lively debate. Like his family, Daniel appreciated a good laugh and participated regularly in our ridiculous antics. He was compassionate to others, hated injustice, loved his country, and most importantly, had a heart for God.

Daniel was an only child, and is survived by his parents Peter and Christina, and loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandparents. He will be missed greatly here on this earth, but we know through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we will be reunited with him again.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, November 19 from 4pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 High Street, Ballston Spa. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa at 10am on Saturday, November 20.

In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to Harboring Hearts (www.harboringhearts.org), a non-profit charitable organization that assisted us and many other families of transplant recipients.

We know that Daniel is in Heaven running, jumping, dancing, and hanging out with all of the great scholars and loved ones that have preceded him. We love you Daniel.

Daniel and I have had many classes together since Middle School, and one thing that remained the same throughout the years was his love & compassion for not only the people around him, but for the world around him. Daniel has taught me so much about myself, including that you should never let someone’s thoughts impact who you are. During our writing class this year, he was always one to share his writing, and he taught me that it really doesn’t matter what people think of your writing, as long as you love it yourself. Thank you for always being so kind to me, and teaching me lessons I will never forget. I know you are sharing all of your wisdom with everyone now, and I will forever carry you with me, until we meet again. I love you, Dan.

I knew Daniel at school, and while we didn’t talk much or have many classes together, I always knew him as a very kind, hard-working classmate. I am so sorry for your loss.

Forever in my heart. I have been a teacher for 20 years and Dan will ALWAYS be one of my favorite students. During Covid he brought an energy that we all needed and he did it with dignity and grace. He reminded us that while we are all human we are still different. We all still deserve our voice, our opinions, and respect from one another. Dan was a humanitarian that this world needed and lost way too soon. I used to tell him that when he became President he better remember me. Dan, you did better than that, you are flying with kings and poets now. Rest In Peace. We love you and I will remember you forever!
