I was saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend. Don, Maggie and I have remained close friends since our high school years at Valley Stream Central during the wonderful 1950's. Don was a kind and generous man of many talents, who was loved by all who knew him. I always enjoyed Don's quiet sense of humor and his sly smile. High School sweethearts, Donald was a devoted husband and loving father. My sincere condolences to Maggie, and the family. I hope many happy memories of the past will sustain you during this difficult time.

Don was one of my favorite people as I was growing up. He was a wonderful family man and a great neighbor. I’ll never forget the toast he gave at my sister’s wedding. None of us knew Don could speak “Polish”. He didn’t either!

Patty and Gary LaMothe.

Gary and I were blessed to know Don, even though it was too short. He was such a warm, caring, kind man. He had such a big heart for his family as well as his friends and those around him. We loved his “inventions” that he shared with others. We will cherish our copper nose rub that prevents colds! God has another Angel with Him. We are all better people just for knowing him. Hugs and Prayers to all of his family.

Words cannot express how grateful I am that you were a big part of my formative years. You taught me not to be so serious and always made me smile when I thought the world was weighing down on me. You were a great coach and friend, and now my guardian angel.

Always in my heart, love you "Flem"
