Drew Anthony Millier

Drew Anthony Millier, 39, of Saratoga Springs, New York, passed away on December 13, 2021. Drew is survived by his wife, Trisha and daughters Sophie and Olivia.

Born on December 27, 1981 in Ware, Massachusetts, Drew lived his life committed to service. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, where he rose through the ranks to become Petty Officer First Class (MM1). While in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Olympia out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and completed his tour at NPTU Ballston Spa as an instructor. Throughout nine years of service, he was the recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Battle E Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals.

Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, Drew earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences and Master’s Degree in Environmental Health (MEH). He went on to work in the environmental health and safety field. Most recently, he was a Principal Compliance Engineer at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory.

Drew was a member of the Free Masons at Wadsworth Lodge No. 417 in Albany, New York, and served as a member of the Scottish Rite, the Capital City Commandery No.2, the Cyprus Shriners, and the Kaa Rheu Vahn Grotto. He was also the founding member of the Knights of St. Andrew in New York State. Additionally, Drew was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Ballston Spa.

A devoted husband and father, Drew’s dedication and love for his family was unparalleled. He was an enthusiastic supporter of all his daughters’ passions and cherished every dance party, art project, fashion show, and pedicure. Drew and Trisha were truly best friends and soulmates, bonded through their humor, love of travel, and commitment to family life and fun. Outspoken since birth, Drew’s charisma and mischievousness were apparent from an early age. He loved playing pranks on his parents and siblings; they were lucky when they were able to reciprocate. As a friend, he was the first to crack a joke, lend a hand, and celebrate. Truly a child at heart, he was able to capture the hearts of all the kids in his neighborhood, whether he was emceeing the neighborhood Fourth of July parade or teaching them honor during his annual Memorial Day service.

In addition to his wife and children, Drew is also survived by his parents, Richard and Sharon Millier; his sister Holly DeJessa (Joseph); brother, Brett Millier (Michelle); and nephews Logan and Jacob.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, December 19 from 2pm to 4pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A mass of catholic burial will be celebrated 9am Monday, December 20 at St. Mary’s Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.

Memorial contributions in memory of Drew may be made to the Military Veteran Project at http://www.militaryveteranproject.org/donation.html

Words cannot express the sorrow we share with you with the loss of Drew. He was brilliant, funny, and delightfully & brutally honest. We will miss his brilliance, humor, selflessness, wit, his mastery of the Scottish accent, and most of all his friendship.
While there is a hole in our hearts where Drew is supposed to be, we will try to fill it with the wonderful memories we have shared over the (holy cow!) long time we have known each other.

Trish, I want you to know that the love that you and Drew shared, and you both insisting that I was “single not desperate” (I still have that mug), was what made me search for a similar relationship which I found with Eric. (Granted he does not have the ability to sing “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” in full Scottish brogue, but he is handy.)

Eric and I look forward to making future memories with you and the girls, and Drew will always be in our hearts.

To Drew, Family, and Friends

Drew was my loving son-in-law. He called me "Mom" in a sweet, respectful way. I will always miss his kind words and amazing sense of humor. His willingness to help at any time was second nature to Drew. He knew how to take the initiative with thoughtfulness and an expertise unique only to him. His devotion to my daughter and lovely granddaughters set the standard as the head of a very happy

Trisha and family,
I worked with Drew at FieldCore. He made our team laugh constantly! It is so hard to believe that someone who lit up any room he walked into, is gone. His light was diminished way too soon. My thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family. Soon, may peace find you and you can remember all the fun and amazing times together, with less sorrow and tears.

Michael Schermerhorn

It is with great sadness that we read of Drew’s passing. He was a wonderful man. We met Drew as a result of our grandchildren playing with Sophie and Olivia. We always respected his energy and devotion to his family. We saw him in action at a Flag Day event at school when Sophie was in kindergarten, and he was such a good role model of citizenship for children. We will miss him, and we send our deepest condolences. Sincerely, Pete & Jane Fox

To the family and friends of Drew -

I never had the honor of meeting Drew, but as a colleague and friend of Aimee Herring, I wish to offer my sincere condolences. His obituary painted a picture of a beautiful person that I am sadden to have never met. The world was richer for his life spent among us and we are now the poorer for his loss.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace and may is soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
