Frances D. Whittaker

Frances D. Whittaker, 92, passed away on May 4, 2018 at Wesley Health Care Center after a brief illness. Born September 2, 1925 in Dartmouth, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gina (Costa) Derossi.

A native of Dartmouth, MA, Frances was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and Kinyon Business School and was also a member of the Smith Mills Congregational Church there. She has resided in Malta with her family for the last 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Uel P. Whittaker. She is survived by her children, Diane Lange and her husband, Clifford of Gansevoort, NY and Dennis Whittaker of Interlachen, FL; her grandchildren, Tammy Melo and her husband Frank of Fall River, MA and James Lange of Gansevoort, NY; and her great grandchildren, Katerina, Michael and Nicholas Melo of Fall River, MA.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to thank the staff on 3 Victoria and 5 Springs at Wesley Health Care Center for the wonderful care and comfort provided to Frances and her family.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Northeast Association of the Blind or to Nick’s Fight to be Healed.

We are sorry to hear of your mother’s passsing. I remember her well and your grandparents too. She is the last of the DeRossi cousins. My father in law, Aldo passed away in 2010. Our sympathy to you all, Steve, Cathy, Gina, Kim and Scott DeRossi.
