Fred O. Koster


Fred O. Koster, of Ballston Lake, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his home. Born in New York City, May 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry and Marie Koster. He served in the US Army. Fred worked for the State of New York for 37 years, retiring as Administrative Officer for the New York State Liquor Authority in 1994. He spent the winter months in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He took his children on many camping trips throughout the United States when they were growing up. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his grandson, Nikko Vidal-Koster. Fred is survived by his wife of 50 years, Arlene Cserne Koster, his children, Keith Koster (Cindy) of Saratoga Springs, Kathleen Reddell (Rhett) of Hillsboro, Texas, Daniel Koster of Clifton Park, Karlynn Lampman (Kevin) of Ballston Lake, Kristin Vidal (Tony) of El Paso, TX, and Katina Fisk (Dan) of Manassas, VA, his brother, Herb Koster (Darlene) of Queensbury, 9 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1pm, Saturday, April 23, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in Ballston Spa Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
