Holly A. Rhude

Holly Ann Rhude, 75, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Holly was born on November 21, 1943, in NYC, the daughter of the late Howard and Edna Clark. She grew up in Burnt Hills, NY and attended St. Johnsbury Academy in VT.

Holly worked many years for Capital Communications Federal Credit Union and retired as the Director of Membership Services. In her retirement she has enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to many destinations with her adoring husband of 33 years, Bill. Some of her favorite trips include visiting the ocean and shoreline in Maine, Cape Cod as well as many New England lakes. Kayaking, canoeing, taking drives along the coast and visiting the area restaurants, especially for seafood, would always bring a smile to her face. Ending the evening watching the sunset was something she loved.

While at home, she enjoyed reading, watching her favorite television shows and watching the birds come into the backyard to eat from the bird feeders. She especially enjoyed the cardinals when they visited. Holly was truly the “Matriarch” of her family, always ready to defend her husband, children and grandchildren and very proud of all of them. She was very strong willed and always quick to tell if something didn’t meet with her approval.

Holly is survived by her husband of 33 years, William Rhude; her children Charles (Lisa) O’ Neil of Santa Maria, CA, Kellie (David) Viddivo of Malta and Meredith Mercier of Malta. She was the proud grandmother of Jake (Ashley) O’Neil of Santa Maria, CA, Tony (Stacey) O’Neil of Santa Maria, CA, Nicholas (Katie) Viddivo of Cheverly, MD, Drew (Jess) Viddivo of Schuylerville, NY, Gabrielle Viddivo, Leanna Viddivo, Lauren Mercier and Cailin Mercier, all of Malta; and proud great grandmother of Connor, Isla, Kenna and Emma. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Holly was predeceased by her parents Howard and Edna Clark, and her brother Russell Clark.

Funeral services will be held 9am Wednesday, January 9 at St. Mary’s Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 8 from 5pm to 8pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.

Memorial contributions in memory of Holly may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memphis, TN or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Boston, MA.

So sorry to hear about Holly's passing. Holly was my supervisor at Capital Communications FCU. She was a beautiful and wonderful lady. Although, we didn't reconnect after leaving the CU. I thought about her often and learned a lot from her. Holly was loved by many and will be truly missed. Rest in peace, Holly.

I grew up with Holly on Eastside Dr and when she moved to Ashdown Rd in Ballston Lake. She was in many of my classes at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Schools. Class of 1961 had looked for her to come to reunions. I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a beautiful person. Howard and Edna were so nice about letting us girls come over to play with Holly. Nice memories. RIP
