James F. Griffin

James F. Griffin, 82, known as Pinky to his family and friends, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Born in Ballston Spa, NY on February 2, 1935, he was the son of Francis and Catherine Griffin.

James was a machinist at Watervliet Arsenal for many years. He enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football, playing cards, and cheering on the horses at the Saratoga Racetrack.

He was predeceased by his sons Michael and Robert, sister Anne Sherwood, and brother Robert Griffin. James is survived by his sons Frank Griffin, William Griffin and J.L. Griffin; nephews Gerald Sherwood, Robert Sherwood (Janet) and John Rung (Rosemarie); 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held 9:30am Tuesday, January 23 at St. Mary’s Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
