William V. "Vince" Welch

William V. “Vince” Welch 80, of Ballston Spa, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017, at Saratoga Center in Ballston Spa.

He was born June 6, 1937 in Ballston Spa, NY, to Chester and Ellen Welch.

A lifelong resident of Ballston Spa, Vince was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in San Antonio, Texas and Okinawa, Japan. Upon discharge from the Air Force, Vince returned home to Ballston Spa and began his more than forty-year career at Knolls Atomic Power Lab, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, West Milton, NY, retiring in 1997. Vince was an avid bowler, bowling with leagues for many years at Ballston Spa Lanes and was also a long-time member of Union Fire Company #2, in Ballston Spa.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Edward Welch and Robert Welch and sister-in-law, Emily Welch. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Welch, his children, Colleen Hadley (John), William K. Welch, and Michael Welch (Michele); step-children, Michael Mulvaney (Joann), Joseph Mulvaney, Jr., Alan Mulvaney (Mary), Kenneth Mulvaney (Tonya), and Joanne Isabella (Carmen); sister-in-law, Sarah Welch, brother-in-law, George Blakeslee (Marylee), nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service and burial will take place 11am Saturday September 30, 2017, at Middle Grove Cemetery, Middle Grove Road, Middle Grove, NY. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vince’s memory to Union Fire Co. #2, PO Box 145, Ballston Spa, NY 12020
