Laurie A. Herman


Laurie Pensabene Herman, 49, walked into Jesus loving arms on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Twenty-five years ago a drunk driver ran a stop sign changing lives forever. After all these years, Laurie succumbed to her broken body. She was born on November 21, 1971 in Saratoga Springs, NY. Laurie was a nurse’s aide at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa and enjoyed archery in her free time.

She is survived by her son Garrett Herman of West Palm Beach, Florida; her parents Larry and Donna Pensabene of Malta; sister Melissa Place (Denis) of Angier, North Carolina; nephew Jaden Place of Angier, North Carolina, aunts and uncles Paul Pensabene of Saratoga, Kim Garrow of Albany, Martha Sears (Ed) of Malta, and Richard Cattell of Hudson Falls; and her cousin Lucinda Cattell Dawson.

A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, November 13 at Barkersville Christian Church. Memorial contributions in memory of Laurie may be made to Barkersville Christian Church, 7200 Barkersville Road, Middle Grove, NY 12850.

The family would like to thank all the nurses who helped care for Laurie over the years.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Ms. Laurie. She was an amazing person and I think about her often. I remember being with her at church before the accident and the joy and love she brought to everyone. I love you all and miss you all. May the Lord be with you all. Laurie is going to get to walk with Jesus. Sending lots 0f love with Laurie and lots of love to the family!
