Mark A. Cottrell

Mark A. Cottrell, 62, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. He was born in Schenectady, NY on August 2, 1959 to James and Jane Cottrell, Sr. He served in the US Air Force.

Mark worked at the Knolls Atomic Power Lab in West Milton for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was his family and he treasured the time he spent with his beloved grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father James Cottrell. Mark is survived by his daughters Samantha Cottrell (Sam) and Michelle Cottrell (Tim); grandchildren Keiara “Storm”, Ilyana, Elexis, Crystal and Jezilyn; mother Jane Cottrell; siblings Dorothea Coleman (William), James Cottrell, Jr. (Harriet) and David Cottrell (Josh).

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, September 23, from 5pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Funeral services with military honors will be held 2:30pm Wednesday, September 29 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville. The family is requesting that all visitors where a facemask.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mark may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

To the Cottrell Family: I was shocked when I learned of Mark's passing. I worked with him at the Kesselring Site. He had the kindest face and heaven is so fortunate to have him as one of their own.
