Mary Jane Hale

Mary Jane Hale, passed away on her 87th birthday, Sunday, December 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ballston Spa, NY on December 24, 1930, she was the daughter of Frederick and Ella Mae Coleman, Sr.

Mary Jane started her career working at General Electric. She later worked as a senior account clerk for the Ballston Spa Central Schools for many years, retiring in 1992.

Mary Jane enjoyed camping with her family in their RV with the Super Sams. She was a Good Sam Club member and served as NYS treasurer for over 20 years. She was lifelong member and longtime trustee for the Ballston Spa United Methodist Church, and a founding member of the church bell choir. When her girls were growing up, she was a 4-H leader. She was an avid knitter and very computer savvy. She treasured all her kitties.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd. Mary Jane is survived by her daughters, Maria Dickerson (Keith) of Mechanicville and Karen Hale of Ballston Spa; siblings Helen Senecal, Betty MacMillin, Fred Coleman, Jr., James Coleman, Jean Heranney and Ruth Vinciguerra; special friends Lori and Arthur Bemis, Dana and Lucy Lautenschlager; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 30 from 10am to 12 noon at the Ballston Spa United Methodist Church, 101 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mary Jane may be made to the Ballston Spa United Methodist Church or the Humane Society.

Mary Jane and her family want to thank Dr Daoui, the staff at DCI/Rubin Dialysis Center, Saratoga Hospital ICU and D-1 for their care and compassion.
