Miss Thouin gave me the courage to tap into my creative side and encourage not only me, but my fellow third grade classmates to live out loud, dance, sing and play. She was a truly gifted educator who had the innate ability to view the world with us and help us understand what it sincerely meant to live in the light of Christ. I cherish my year spent with Miss Thouin and learned to fall in love with school. She was and will always be my favorite teacher. She entrusted me as the MC of our Bicentennial 1776-1976 play with over 200 lines. Her encouragement and patience brought out the best in all of us. I still have my end of the year awards from her that were carefully created and thought-out and placed in our final report card envelope. My love of writing, playwriting and acting come from the nurturing, creative incubator that she alone created and curated. Thank you for all that you did. I'm sure you're square dancing in heaven!

Visiting Aunt Marm was such a terrific childhood memory. She was always doing schoolwork, correcting papers or telling us about her upcoming play or planned activities for her class. She was a dedicated educator. We loved seeing the gerbils and always tried to visit when there was a new litter of them. Aunt Marm never missed sending each of us a birthday card. After each Christmas she was always so proud of the deals she got on wrapping paper, ribbon and such for next Christmas. As she got older she was quite funny at holiday gatherings. We love and miss you Aunt Marm.

Miss Thouin, was my favorite teacher in all 18 years of formal education. She cared for all her students in such a way that she made each one of us feel important and special. As my 3rd grade teacher in 1964, she helped me learn to try my best, and her encouragement to keep trying to memorize those spelling words paid off. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so dedicated and caring. So much gratitude for helping form the many young minds throughout your career. Always my favorite!

Mrs.Thouin was a wonderful person, a kind and patient teacher. I have fond memories of our play, Mary Poppins, from third grade in the 80’s. She made sure everyone played a role and participated equally. She was creative, fun and fair. Thinking of your family and sending peace to you.

Miss Thouin was my teacher back in 1970. She is one of those rare teachers who still stand out in my mind. Her obit couldn't have been more accurate, recalling the gerbils in the BSS classroom and the 3rd grade play. Miss Thouin's kindness has left a lasting impression with me.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
