Robert W. Armer

Bob is the founder of Armer Funeral Home, Inc. He was a graduate of Simmons Mortuary School in Syracuse and received his undertaking license in 1937 and his embalming license in 1938. In the early years, Bob worked for the Saratoga County Infirmary and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department while starting the funeral home business with his wife Sara. Bob enjoys farming and many local people have enjoyed riding with his Belgian Draft horses in parades and hay rides. His small farm also is the home to cows, chickens and turkeys. On June 20, 2011, Bob passed away. We will continue to carry on the legacy of service and compassion that he has taught us all.

Harry L. Armer

Harry was born and raised in Ballston Spa and graduated from Ballston Spa High School. He served in the US Navy and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College, receiving his funeral directors license in 1977. Harry worked at the Baxter Funeral Home in Schenectady for six years and joined his father full time at the Armer Funeral Home, Inc in 1984. Harry serves on the Board of Directors of the Cornell Cooperative Extension. He was a member and past president of the Community Emergency Corp and Ballston Spa Rotary Club. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ballston Spa. Harry has four children and six grandchildren. 

Laurie A. Armer

Laurie graduated from Scotia Glenville High School and the Simmons School of Mortuary Science. She received her funeral directors license in 1987, and came to work at the Armer Funeral Home, Inc in May of that year. Laurie is a communicant of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa. Harry and Laurie were married in 1995 and have a daughter.

Jason S. Armer

Jason is a graduate of Ballston Spa High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He received his funeral directors license in 1996. He then joined his father and grandfather in the family business. Jason serves on the Saratoga County Fair Board and is the Director of Buildings and Grounds. He is an active participate in the truck pulls at the fair. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ballston Spa. Jason and his wife, Ellen have two children.
