Richard B. Yellin

Richard Yellin, 73, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017. He was born in Newark, NJ in 1944.

Richard enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 and rose to receive his commission as an officer and retired as a lieutenant commander in 1991 after 26 years in the service. Following his Naval career, Richard was a medical recruiter and a self-employed businessman.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Yellin; his children, Kelly Yellin (Steven Mergentheimer) of Grafton, MA and Jodi Edmonds (Thad Edmonds) of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren Tanner, Isabella, Emma, Clara, Sophie and Zachary.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Relatives and friends attending are asked to arrive by 10:15 am. Burial with military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

Richard’s family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Wesley Health Care Center and Saratoga Hospital as well as everyone at Community Hospice of Saratoga for the care and support given throughout his illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to the charity of your choice.
