Rose M. Ferris


Rose M. Ferris, 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Born in Athens, Pennsylvania, on January 5, 1935, she was the daughter of John and Nora Farr.

Rose’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured the time she spent with them, cooking and family gatherings. A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa, her faith was an important part of her life. Rose worked at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory Kesselring Site in West Milton for many years.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Nora Farr, and her siblings Eleanor Chambers, Regina Reagan, Joseph Farr, John Farr, Alfred Farr and Mary Reagan. Rose is survived by her sons Donald Ferris (Janine) and John Ferris; grandsons Patrick and Matthew; sister Pauline Farr, twin sister Rita Cox; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:30am, Saturday, February 10 at St Mary’s Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 9, from 4pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, and Ballston Spa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rose to St. Mary’s Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or Community Hospice Foundation, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
